Pine Street Baptist Church in the historic Oregon Hill community of Richmond, Virginia is an urban church with a heart for worship, missions, ministry and fellowship. For over 150 years, Pine Street has sought to bear witness to its faith in Jesus Christ. Committed to a love of God and a love of one’s neighbor, we seek to live out our faith in such a way to bring honor and glory to God. In an ever changing world, Pine Street believes that the timeless message of God’s love is able to speak to hearts and lives of people today.
 

   
Dr. Philip Turner - Pastor
Dr. Philip Turner has served as Pastor of Pine Street Baptist Church since 1991. A native of North Carolina, Dr. Turner, his wife Jennifer, and their two children, Lindsey and Hannah, live in the Oregon Hill community. In asking Dr. Turner what drew him to Pine Street Baptist Church he responds, “a deep desire to serve in an urban environment and a congregation that is rooted and grounded in God’s love for all people.” A gifted speaker and teacher, Dr. Turner is known for his easy going personality and an innovative spirit.
   
Rev. Jennifer Turner – Community Missionary
The Rev. Jennifer Turner serves as the Director for the Oregon Hill Baptist Center which is located in Pine Street Baptist Church. A native of Richmond, Rev. Turner directs the social ministries of the church. In cooperation with the Richmond Baptist Association, the Oregon Hill Center has served the community for over 30 years. Rev. Turner’s leadership and gifts allows her to work with all ages within the Oregon Hill community. A compassionate and conscientious heart has enabled Rev. Turner to forge strong ties to the people of Oregon Hill and the surrounding community.
   
Ms. Linda Johnston – Minister of Music
Ms. Linda Johnston has been part of the Pine Street staff for nearly 30 years. A long time staff person in the department of music at the Virginia Commonwealth University, Ms. Johnston shares her musical gifts in many ways. As the church’s organist, Ms. Johnston directs the adult, youth, and children’s choir. With music being such an important part of a church’s worship life, Ms. Johnston’s dedication and faithfulness has made a lasting impression.
   
Rev. Clint Jackson – Associate Minister
A native of Kentucky, Clint Jackson joined the staff in 2006 as Associate Minister. Clint directs the Kids on the Hill program and works with the children’s Sunday School. In addition, Clint loves working with older adults in various capacities. He and wife, Martha, have four children.
